I haven’t taken a Princess cruise transfer to the airport in Fort Lauderdale for years. I always took a cab as my flight was before noon. with a 1 pm flight and at a cost of 19USD, I decided to try it.
My meeting time to get off the ship was 9:15 but given the ship had delayed the off boarding it was chaos so I got off at 8:40am with the first transfer group. There were long lines to get off the ship, get your luggage and have your picture taken (the new customs Process). I reached the transfer buses at 9:20 am. It then took 20 minutes to load my bus. It took 20 minutes to get to the airport. The bus only makes 2 stops and if you’re on Air Canada you then have to walk 15 minutes to terminal 4 from terminal B , the second drop off stop.
Tips
- don’t take the ship transfers if you can help it especially if you have a flight before noon. Take the cab option at 25usd and do self assist first departure
- if you take the ship transfer give yourself an hour to 1.5 hours to get to your airport check in.
- expect chaos and calmly go thru the steps… as knowing what will happen is an advantage
Hope this helps
Marcia
