Trip to Holguin Cuba for solos at 719 Canadian dollars

Air transat is offering a 7 night all inclusive vacation December 9, 2019 at Fiesta Americana (4 star) for 719 CDN for solos.  This is a great deal  for a solo but note that if you want to prepay for selecting seats on the plane, and 1 bag each way its another $103.  The reviews on Trip Advisor are 4 stars and seem good.  No real complaints from those I read.
take a look at airtransat.com

Pet Peeve - receiving Canadian Emails with travel in USD

I really dislike that Princess princess.com cruises always sends me what seems to be incredible priced offers weekly but they are in USD and I live in Canada. I think its a bait and switch as when I click thru its always much more in CDN dollars.  Get your act together Princess cruises.

I also find Indus Travel  (https://www.indus.travel/tour/best-of-peru/?utm_source=Email&utm_medium=cps&utm_campaign=Email_Marketing)does a similar thing in the headline its always USD but then in the body of the email there is pricing in both USD and CDN.

When will travel companies treat Canadian buyers appropriately in their emails.
Hope this helps

Allure transatlantic spring cruise $1499USD for balcony

If you want a balcony on a mega ship - this is a good deal from cruises only cruisesonly.com, for a spring cruise on Allure of the Seas. Its a central park cabin and includes $150USD on board credit.  Note this cruise does not have any ports just across the Atlantic but there is lots to do

Deal on MSC Seaside Nov 30 with Sunwing flight

Saw an excellent deal for a solo ocean view Fantastica cabin for $838 (includes taxes) on Expedia.ca with a Sunwing Flight (7:20 am dep) and return of 12 noon. It leaves on November 30th and returns Dec 7th
The flight is only $242 on Flight hub … its more on Sunwing.  It costs $21 each way for your bag and I couldn't get a price on seat selection.
So overall you can go on a seven day cruise with flights for just over $1000. I think this is a very good deal

Hate it when they tag your e searches?

I really dislike when Cruise Critic, Expedia and other sites use their cookies to tag your searches and then send you an email (usually irrelevant).  For instance yesterday I was checking out the Regal Princess and today have emails of offers etc.
Yes you can decline to accept the cookies but then they limit your searches or you can opt out. But if you like some of their offers your stuck with getting this really annoying follow up to your general browsing.

By the way Regal Princess is on sale for their December 1st and 8th sailing and you can get an inside cabin solo at about $1000 or per person about $500 double. This excludes the taxes, gratuities.
Hope this helps

How to reduce the cost of your vacation

I just finalized all of the booking for a cruise/city vacation in Holland and Baltic Cruise.  Below are some of the tips for reducing costs that I put into action.
1. The cruise was almost free as I had a future cruise credit due to a cancelled cruise by the cruise line. All I had to pay was $100 and the taxes. But the tip here is that I used the future cruise credit at CruCon.com (crucon.com) and got a $150 on board credit (OBC).  If a cruise line offers you a cruise credit, use it in the time frame allowed and find a travel agency giving OBCs this way you will reduce your overall cost. This will pay for the daily service charges)
2. Try to use your credit card, travel agency and or airline points even if its only a partial payment.  This time I used my expedia points (expedia.ca) and doubled the credit at one of their VIP hotels. In this case it allowed me a discount of $200 for a much better hotel in Amsterdam.  I also used up my Visa Adventura card points (cibc.com) which reduced a $1200 flight to $733 but I still had to pay for my seats and baggage.  I am flabbergasted that a seat on KLM is now $32 CDN each way and 1 checked bag is $60 each way.  If my KLM points had not expired I would have saved some money there.
3. If you are only staying one night as I am the last day of the cruise you really only need a hotel close to transportation to and from the cruise port and airport.  I have to stay one night in order to get a morning flight home the next day.  I used Booking.com  (booking.com) and my genius 2 level discount for a hotel walking distance to the cruise port and easy 1 train to the airport the next day.
 4.  This is likely the most important tip - watch the prices of your flight, cruise as this way you can book at sale times and you get the double wammy of the sale price plus the use of your rewards to get the lowest price.

I only like direct flights when I have to check a bag, prefer an aisle seat close to the front of the plane and hotels on the train lines and public transit or walkable to the sights I want to see. With a little planning and use of reward points I am saving over $2500 on this vacation.

Hope this helps

Beware - RCL USD to CDN$ exchange is bad and you can not book flights in USD on a CDN$ booking

I just booked my flights for an upcoming cruise on Harmony of the Seas transatlantic.  After checking several websites (airlines, Expedia, ...
